Governor's State Workforce Investment Board (SWIB)
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is comprised of the officers and no more than ten at-large representatives, and is composed of a majority of business members. The at-large representatives of the Executive Committee shall be members of the SWIB and are appointed by the Chair. At-large members are appointed for one-year terms and may serve multiple terms. The Executive Committee has all of the authority of the SWIB whenever SWIB action is required.
Charge:
General oversight of the board, and authorized in the Board's operating rules to make decisions on behalf of the Board.
Goals:

Engage the workforce system in anticipating and responding to the businesses' current and emerging needs for skilled workers.

Develop strategies to align workforce development, post-secondary education, and economic development.

Advance workforce development policies by providing recommendations to the Governor and other state leaders who support economic development efforts in Montana.
Duties:

Recommend allocation distribution formulas for funding One-Stop Centers, for funding between programs, funding types of services and geographical areas, and tracking program expenditures.

Review program and administrative budgets.

Identify sources of leveraging additional revenue - public and private sources.

Review and develop program policies.

Capacity Building for Board Members and the System.

Track Legislative Issues related to workforce development.
